It's my Stronghold multiplayer platform for over 2 years. - First, download it from here: http://www.gameranger.com/ - Launch the program and create a new account if you don't have one. An e-mail confirmation will be necessary. If you already have an account, log in using the E-mail and password. - Once the program has started, two boxes will appear: one called Friends and one GameRanger: Bronze. The friends box it's a list of other players. You can chat with them when online and shedule a game. You can add up to 50 friends. Payment is requied if you want the list to be way bigger (500) and other special features Double click on your name (top of list) to change it. You can have any name you wish, regardless if it's already in use. Right click on your name and you'll see a box showing your account details, the most important being the Account ID. That is unique and you can search a specific player if he knows his own Acc. ID. The other box is the list of all real-time opened rooms. Not only for SH/C but for all games supported by GameRanger. Atop it's list you have the option 'my games' and the program will show you only the rooms for the games you have installed in PC. From file-> options you can set up new games manually if the program doesn't recognize it. Preety much that's it. Peter2008 and Adam the First uses GameRanger as well. Getting back to the subject, anyone who played SH using hamachi is welcome to describe some of the experiences. | posted 01-13-11 16:32 EST (US) 6 / 17 Hamachi is an interesting program. It is not as easy to use as Gameranger, but the game is a bit faster with it as I have experienced. In hamachi the player has to create or join to virtual servers, where everyone recieves a 'Gamer IP', which starts with a '5'. If you are logged in and want to play a game, you will have to start Stronghold / Crusader and host a game there (in TCP/IP direct play). Then you will only have to ask someone to join your game by writing in the host's IP at the Host's IP field after you have opened the multiplayer game and opened the 'TCP/IP direct play(or something like that)' mode. After all the players have joined to the host, the game can be started. Must Note: The newer versions of the hamachi causes serious laggs, but the older versions work much better, I myself use 1.0.3.0, but 1.0.1.5 is much faster. There is no need for the game to be manually started by you. There can be up to 8 players. If you host a room, you posses the start button and you may start the game whenever someone joins. Right click over your name then press show info and tell me the number written at Account. So I can add you to friends and chat when you're online. You have to setup the port forwarding on the routers's page(wich can be opened by typing in your router's IP in your browser.) That IP is used to 'contact' the router through the browser and others can't see that. For example my computer's IP is 195.199.220.169. 1. make sure your computers are connected each other, via LAN cable (RJ45). it doesn't need internet connection at all.
2. open stronghold crusader, choose multiplayer

3. choose internet direct play4. if you are the host, don't fill anything. If you join, fill the host's IP address which appear in host's computer
5. then click join, the host's name will appear
6. choose that name, click join.

if you want to play multiplayer with more than 2 computers, you can use wifi connection.
